Our prayers have been answered ladies, Jason Wu for Target is coming to Toronto.. TOMORROW. A pop-up store is going to be set up at 363 King Street West, with 2,500 pieces from this collection. If all of you saw my previous post about the collection you will know that this is a great opportunity for you to get your hands on some really awesome pieces! What better way to get that jump start on your Spring/Summer wardrobe? There is one strict rule for this pop-up store, that being there is a three item maximum per customer. Total bummer, but let’s not get greedy and just take what we can get.
My advice to all of you lovely people is to take a gander on the Target website before you go, so you can go in knowing exactly what you want. Probably the best bet considering you are most likely going to run in to some pretty nasty shoppers, after all, it is Jason Wu.
When talking about his Toronto pop-up store Jason Wu said, “Working with Target has allowed me to reach a much broader audience and I’m so excited that my Canadian fans will have a chance to experience this collection for the first time.”
A few more exciting things about this pop-up store, as if there wasn’t enough excitement already, is that all of the proceeds will go to the Toronto United Way, annnnnd, the most exciting bit of all is that there is rumour that Jason Wu will be there himself!
Good luck ladies xo
Finally, it’s here! Today the complete lookbook for the Jason Wu for Target collection came out! Yet another collection that will get you excited for the upcoming seasons. This collection has a girl-next-door feel to it, with some added sophistication.
While doing an interview with Popsugar at New York Fashion Week, Wu spoke of his muse, Diane Kruger, saying it is “easy to design for someone that has such self confidence” and that Diane “embodies such sophistication”. Both of these traits are very evident in this collection.
As it is for the Spring and Summer seasons, the collection has a lot of colour in it, from red to navy to mustard, and some floral prints. There are even some nautical stripes thrown in! The whole collection is very clean cut, and the dresses are perfect to wear out to a brunch with family or friends.
Most women dress in a very feminine manner in the Spring and Summer seasons, and this is where Wu’s collection will come in handy. It is a very soft collection, and I believe it will make any woman feel gorgeous.
It’s so nice when famous designers do collaborations like this one as it makes a designer brand affordable. The clothing in this collection ranges from $19.99 - $59.99 and the accessories from $19.99 - $49.99. Very affordable if I do say so myself!
The collection will be available from February 5th - March 6th, a very small time frame. If there are pieces that are catching your eye, you better have your wallets ready ladies, as I’m sure this collection will sell out quickly.

Considering Missoni for Target did so well (pieces were reselling for thousands on eBay), it makes sense that the mega-retailer, Target, is announcing a collaboration with a well-known designer, Jason Wu. Little information has been released in regards to this collaboration, but we can be fairly certain that it will be one you won’t want to miss. Especially if the collection is similar to his Spring/Summer 2012 runway looks. After-all, you can’t go wrong with soft, flowing skirts, patterned shorts and pants, and cute cocktail dresses.
The collection will be available online and at select Target stores starting February 5, 2012 (yet another date to mark on your calendars ladies) and will include both clothing and accessories. The twenty-eight year old designer told WWD (Women’s Wear Daily),
"The exciting thing about this limited edition collection of affordable women’s wear and accessories is that it allows me to reach a wider audience and bring my designs to people who may not have been able to purchase them before.”
Thank-you Jason Wu! It’s nice of him to be thinking of us consumers who don’t have thousands and thousands of dollars to be spending on clothes. I can’t wait for more information to be leaked on this exciting collaboration, some more sketches (like the once above - which was released yesterday), would do just fine! Right now, February 5th seems so far away.
